Chronoscreen™ utilizes the roundworm, Caenorhabditis elegans (C. elegans), a whole organism model with many physiological similarities to humans including a digestive and nervous system. The validity of the C. elegans model for biomedical research was even recognised by the award of the 2002 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine7.

The C.elegans are not only able to eat the whole ingredient, but they’re also able to diffuse the ingredients directly into their cuticles, which allows us to monitor the life extension of the chemical fingerprint working together; whilst many other testing platforms are only able to test singular components at a time.
